DIY Charcoal Face Mask

Arts and Crafts

There is nothing better than a Sunday Night Pamper Session.

I’ve seen a few people trying this, both on YouTube and Pintrest so thought why not try it myself as part of my Sunday Night pamper routine.

Sunday evenings I schedule for me, I do a face mask, shape my brows, the works. I swapped out my Sea Mud Face Mask and tried my hand at the DIY Charcoal face mask.

To begin with, I washed the makeup off my face using my trustee Calm Cleanser. I then crushed 5 charcoal tablets (I got these from Amazon)

I used a paper bowl to save having to wash up a sticky charcoal mess… because I am lazy and I am not even sorry about it.

I mixed one cup of PVA glue with the charcoal power, using a cheap makeup brush sourced from Primark. An absolute bargain at £1.50 so I didn’t feel guilty about potentially ruining it!

Then came the fun part, I smeared the mixture on my face, being careful to avoid my eye brows. The last thing I wanted to do was rip off my brows. This isn’t the 90’s, virtually non-existent brows are not the one.

I waited for the mask to dry – it took about 30 minutes. Then I peeled it off carefully, with it, removing a few little blackheads.

I’ll admit, I was impressed. 2 ingredients and I had a makeshift face mask that cleared pours. Its not something I’d do regularly, but for a quick DIY its not bad at all!

Let me know if you’ve tried this, or if you’ve got any other DIYs you think I should try!

    1. Hi Katie Rose! I would say if you’re going to do it do a patch test behind your ear. I have sensitive skin and I didn’t have any problems. PVA is used by childred who often smother themselves in it and their skin is super sensitive. That was my thought process but I’m not an expert so I’d definitely recommend testing it on a small patch before covering your whole face! Let me know how you get on 🙂 xx
